The Life and Ministry of Elijah

Joy for the Journey: Joy in Contentment

Text: Philippians 4:10-13

Far too often in our culture and in the church, we are a discontented people. In order to be content, we think we need to have some experience, some possession, some amount of wealth, etc. However, none of these things fully satisfy the heart of man. In this message, we learn the key to finding contentment, satisfaction, and happiness no matter what we are facing today, but this message comes with a warning. There are many living their lives today without any peace. With all of the hurt, division, and confusion in our world today, peace seems impossible. However, God offers peace to all who will look to Him. Because of God’s presence, we don’t have to be anxious, worried, or fearful. Text: Philippians 3:17-21

All throughout the world today we are seeing the brokenness of this world, the depravity of man, and the division and confusion that the enemy brings. However, God’s Word gives us good news that brings great joy. No matter how bad this world gets, for those who know Jesus this world is not our home. We have a home in heaven that is both reserved and prepared for us. God is calling us to live this earthly life in a heavenly way so that He might accomplish His purposes through us and so that we might have His peace and joy every step of the way.
