More Than a Name: It's All About Jesus

Many in our culture claim to be “Christian.” By their good works, their religious activity, their family’s name, their kindness towards others, their outward appearance, and overall good vibes and intentions, they conclude that surely they must be a follower of Jesus. However, the Bible makes it clear that we are not saved by what we look like on the outside, but by what God does on the inside. The good news is that we don’t have to be uncertain of our salvation. God has done everything possible to make salvation available to us and He gives us several key ways to KNOW that we are saved. We commit ourselves to a church family, but stay only until we get offended about something. We commit ourselves to a spouse, but stay only when our needs are being met first. Commitment is not something that comes naturally to us. However, it is something that God wants for us and from us.
