More Than a Name: Practicing Righteousness

Text: 1 John 2:29-3:10

Are you walking in righteousness? Proverbs 15:9 tells us that God loves those who pursue righteousness, but how can we do that? With the temptations of our flesh, the messages of the culture, and the pressures all around us, how can we be effective in this pursuit? The task may seem daunting and perhaps impossible, but God shows us clearly in this message how we can be clothed in His righteousness and how we should live that out as believers today. If you are ready to walk in righteousness, we invite you to listen today.

More Than a Name: Abiding in Christ

Text: 1 John 2:18-29

Are you “abiding” in Christ? The word is strange and uncommon in our culture. In its original context it meant “to be connected, to live, to remain.” It was used to describe those who were deeply and continuously connected. Today, we might describe close friends, neighbors, or family members as those that we are “close and connected to” or “doing life with.” While these relationships can be a wonderful blessing in our lives, they can never give us what can only come through a relationship with Jesus. We invite you to listen to this message today to discover the many joys of “abiding” in Christ.

More Than a Name: Loving and Living for The Lord

Text: 1 John 2:15-17

There are many in our culture today who profess to be Christians. However, we can all profess many things whether they are true or not. In this passage of Scripture, John points us to the “love test.” He is asking a very pointed question to reveal if our profession is true. The question is simple, “Who do you love?” Do you truly love Jesus, or do you love the world? We invite you to listen to this message today, examine your life, and answer the question honestly. This is a test you don’t want to take lightly and certainly don’t want to fail.

Believe and Live

Text: John 11:21-27

Over the past year, we have all faced the challenges and circumstances of walking through a pandemic. Disease, divisions, death, and difficulties of all types have been prevalent in our society. These circumstances have been much like the scene that is described in John 11. While many may feel hopelessness, fear, uncertainty, and even anger, God shows us how we can experience hope, joy, and life. The key to all these things is found in Who we are trusting in. We invite you to listen today to be encouraged and challenged to trust in the One who can give you True Life.
