Overcomer: Overcoming Rejection

Text: Genesis 37:18-36; 39:1-2

Have you ever felt rejected? Perhaps you have felt rejected by someone you love such as a parent, a spouse, a child, or even a friend. Others have felt rejection from an employer, a certain group, or even from society as a whole. Few things in life sting as much as rejection. It can cause deep wounds, insecurities, fear, uncertainties, anxiety, anger, and bitterness - just to name a few. Joseph certainly faced his share of rejection in his life. Few of us have faced rejection to the depths that he experienced, yet, he did not allow his entire life to be defined by this rejection. Sure, it shaped his life in many ways, but he did not allow himself to live as a victim. He instead lived as a victor because he trusted in the Lord. Today, you, too, can experience the same victory if you are willing to look to God and live by faith. We invite you to listen to this message to discover how you, too, can be an overcomer.

Overcomer: Overcoming the Hatred of Others

Text: Genesis 37:1-17

This message begins a new sermon series that focuses on the life of Joseph, in the Old Testament, who faced all sorts of obstacles and challenges. There are very few difficulties that we might face in our lives today that he could not relate to. Yet, with every circumstance, conflict, and challenge, he was able to trust God, and this faithful trust in God not only enabled him to persevere, but also empowered him to overcome every obstacle that he faced. In a similar way, the key to living in victory is found in living by faith. We invite you to listen so that you will be encouraged and equipped to experience the victory that God offers you today.

The Backward Way Forward

Text: Jeremiah 6:16

We find ourselves surrounded by a lot of noise today. Confusing messages, changes, challenges, chaos and corruption. There are many things that distract and discourage as we strive to live for the Lord, following His will and the path he has for us. The message today examines a very clear formula that God’s word outlines for how to live for the Lord, know His will and walk according to God’s plan for your life.

Never Forget…The Cross

Text: 1 Corinthians 1:18-31

On September 11, 2001, America was attacked by terrorists who sought to destroy as many lives as possible. In the days that followed, our nation was challenged to “Never Forget” what had occurred. It was a call to never forget the lives that were lost, the reality of evil, the power of courage, and the gift of sacrifice. At the time, it seemed impossible that we would ever forget such a moment, but through the years with other distractions, divisions, and discouragements, we have in many ways forgotten the significance of that moment. As Christians, our calling is not to remember 9/11, but we are called to always remember the cross. We are called to embrace it, remember it, proclaim it, and model its power through our transformed lives. This message is a clear call to never forget the cross and its power to transform lives today.
