First Things First: The Priority of Following Jesus

Text: Mark 10:17-31

The focus of this new study is to help us learn from God’s Word what we should prioritize in our lives. The phrase “first things first” means that there are matters of first importance that require our urgent attention before other things are done. We greatly need this today because we live our lives with constant movement, a limitless number of distractions, and even great responsibilities which can often hinder our focus on the things that should be first. God cuts through all the distractions and noises to continually show us the “one thing” that needs to be addressed in our lives, and in this case, the “one thing” that the rich young ruler also lacked. We invite you to listen today to consider the great priority of following Jesus.

So Much More: God is Still God

Text: Nehemiah 13:1-31

When we paused our study on Nehemiah for the Christmas season, we ended on a high note in Nehemiah 12, as the building project was dedicated to the Lord and the people of God celebrated His goodness. However, it didn’t take long for God’s people to compromise in their commitment to the Lord and revert back to their old sinful ways. Similarly, even still today, we are like sheep prone to wander from pure devotion to the Lord. What should we do when we stumble and stray? What should we do when we see brothers and sisters in Christ doing the same? And, more importantly, what does God do when this occurs? All of these questions are answered in this message today. We pray that you will be encouraged and challenged to remember that God is still God and He is worthy of our best!

Worthy of It All: Worthy of Our Worship

Text: Matthew 2:1-12, NIV

Each person connected to Christ’s birth gave something in response to the Lord, and we should be willing to give the same. There is no single gift sufficient to describe the gratitude we should have for all that He has given us because “He is worthy of it all.” In this message, we discover how God invited the magi to come from a great distance to seek and experience the Savior. Fully believing in who Jesus is, they arrived with full hearts and hands, offering their very best gifts to Jesus as an act of worship and devotion. We invite you to listen to consider what you can give to Him as an act of worship today!

Worthy of It All: Worthy of Our Priority

Text: Luke 2:1-20

Most people will spend much time this season trying to find the perfect gift for someone they love. We pray that you will especially consider all that God has done for you, and what you can give as an act of worship to Him. Each person connected to Christ’s birth gave something in response to the Lord, and we should be willing to give the same. There is no single gift sufficient to describe the gratitude we should have for all that He has given us, but as we study, we will repeatedly find that “He is worthy of it all.” In this message, we discover how God invited the shepherds to experience the Savior and commissioned them to share His Good News with others. They responded by dropping everything and making Jesus the greatest priority in their lives. We invite you to listen to consider how the Lord is inviting you to know Him so that He might have His proper place in your life today!
