The Kingdom Way: Holy Heavenly Citizens

Text: Matthew 5:27-37

As heavenly citizens, we are ambassadors and representatives of Jesus Christ on Earth. Jesus was many things, but above them all, He was holy, and as His disciples, we are called to be the same. The word “holy” means “sanctified and set apart.” As Jesus prayed in John 17, we are to be in the world, but we are to be different from the world so that we point others clearly to Him. This distinction as heavenly citizens is seen in many ways, but especially in the areas of purity, marriage, commitment, and honesty. Jesus spoke directly and honestly about these things in the Sermon on the Mount, and we invite you to read His words, listen to this message, and consider where you stand with Him today.

The Kingdom Way: Right Relationships in the Kingdom

Text: Matthew 5:20-26

The Kingdom Way is a summary of The Sermon on the Mount where Jesus shows us repeatedly that His Kingdom is different than the ways and kingdoms of men. In this study we discover that our future in Heaven with Jesus radically impacts how we live for Jesus here. In this sermon, we see how our citizenship in His Kingdom powerfully influences our personal relationships. This Scripture doesn’t cover every nuance or possibility of conflict in personal relationships, but it is one of the most foundational passages on human relationships in all the Bible. We invite you to listen closely today and practice the three exhortations given, which can powerfully impact your life, your relationships with others, and ultimately your relationship with God.

The Kingdom Way: The Key to the Kingdom

Text: Matthew 5:17-20

Many people live their lives hopeful of a future in Heaven, while completely ignoring and missing the key. Some are distracted by worldly pursuits and lies that focus on the self, and some are deceived by good intentions, good works, and the lure of religion. Jesus shows emphatically that there is one key to the Kingdom of God, and the key is Jesus Himself. Man will not be a part of the Kingdom of Heaven apart from faith in Christ. As Jesus spoke to His disciples in Matthew 5, He explained who He is, what He came to do, and why it is important. In this specific message, He gave no specific command or instruction, but His words certainly exhort us to action. We pray that you will be encouraged and challenged as you listen to this message today and fully trust “The Key to the Kingdom.”

The Kingdom Way: Ambassadors of the King

Text: Matthew 5:13-16

All who have trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior are citizens of God’s Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven. We are already represented in Heaven through Christ, and at the same time, we are still physically living here on this earth. This means that as “Kingdom citizens” we have a vital role and responsibility while here. Like an ambassador to a foreign land, the Lord has called and commissioned us to be His ambassadors and representatives. In this message, Jesus explains the vital role that Christians play in society and calls us to consider where and how He places us for Gospel impact. We invite you to listen today and consider your role in representing Christ in this world!
