It can be easy in life and in the church to isolate from others and do life on our own. However, we were not meant to live this way, and we will not thrive alone. No Christian will be healthy and vibrant if they are walking the journey alone. Life is hard and filled with many trials and challenges. The Christian life doesn’t mean that we are protected from these burdens, but rather that we have the Prince of Peace with us and partners around us to help us bear the burdens of life. In this message, we discover how to be a burden bearer and a burden sharer. We can’t dismiss the burdens of life, but we can handle them in a way that honors God and helps others so that there is hope and healing found.
Text: Ephesians 4:30-32; Colossians 3:12-13
Forgiveness is a common need for all humanity. We all need forgiveness from God, and we all need to extend it to one another. However, we greatly struggle with this calling. Like Peter in Matthew 18, we like to put boundaries and limitations on who and how often we will forgive. Jesus’ answer to Peter’s request, and our common problem, teaches us how greatly we need His help with forgiveness. We invite you to listen today so that you can learn how to identify when to forgive and how to do so.
