There's Good News: Good News of a Child

Text: Isaiah 9:1-7

This year, 2020, will be remembered for the many difficulties and challenges that we all faced along the way. From week to week and month to month, it seemed that the news about the ongoing pandemic and its many results just grew worse and worse. Though the crisis has been draining and discouraging, there is still “Good News” that we can hold onto today. It is not news of a vaccine, a recovered economy, an election result, a peace treaty in a foreign land, or of Christmas traditions and plans. It is Good News directly from God to man that is far more important and far more lasting than any other news that you will hear in this world. We invite you today to consider the Good News of the Child that was to be born in Bethlehem 2,000 years ago.

I Will Bless the Lord

Text: Psalm 103

There are many who consider themselves to be thankful, but how many of us actually are deliberate in giving thanks? Like the healed lepers in Luke 17, the majority of us get so caught up in our busyness and distractions that we fail to faithfully give thanks to God. In Psalm 103, we learn the keys to living with deliberate devotion and praise to the Lord. We invite you to listen today to discover how to do so and the amazing impact it has on your life and the many who follow after you.

One Another: Forgive One Another

Text: Ephesians 4:30-32; Colossians 3:12-13

Forgiveness is a common need for all humanity. We all need forgiveness from God, and we all need to extend it to one another. However, we greatly struggle with this calling. Like Peter in Matthew 18, we like to put boundaries and limitations on who and how often we will forgive. Jesus’ answer to Peter’s request, and our common problem, teaches us how greatly we need His help with forgiveness. We invite you to listen today so that you can learn how to identify when to forgive and how to do so.

One Another: Bear One Another's Burdens

Text: Galatians 6:1-5

It can be easy in life and in the church to isolate from others and do life on our own. However, we were not meant to live this way, and we will not thrive alone. No Christian will be healthy and vibrant if they are walking the journey alone. Life is hard and filled with many trials and challenges. The Christian life doesn’t mean that we are protected from these burdens, but rather that we have the Prince of Peace with us and partners around us to help us bear the burdens of life. In this message, we discover how to be a burden bearer and a burden sharer. We can’t dismiss the burdens of life, but we can handle them in a way that honors God and helps others so that there is hope and healing found.
