God’s Relationship With Us

Stuart Shumway has pastored churches in Virginia and North Carolina. He’s a graduate of Liberty University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He’s currently the Principal of First Baptist Christian School in Stuart, Florida, and leads the educational ministry of First Baptist Church of Stuart. This week he challenges us with Psalm 139 which shows us the remarkably intimacy with which God knows us and loves us, and how He satisfies three of our deepest needs: to be known, understood and valued.

Celebrate and Anticipate

As Christians, we understand that ours is an historic faith. Much of our worship stems from remembering what God has done in times past. However, as Christians, we further understand that history is going somewhere and that we get to anticipate what God is going to do in the ages to come. Paul follows this theme in 2 Timothy 2 as he instructs Timothy to Celebrate as well as Anticipate in his future ministry.
